The Truth Hurts

I believe honesty is the best trait anyone can have. I think being honest truly shows one’s character and ability to be confident in their opinions. I don’t like it when people lie especially because they don’t want to hurt the other person. 1–10 scales are bullshit because you can pick anything in the middle and it’ll be rendered useless.

Another thing is people getting hurt when they hear the truth. I don’t think you are entitled to have your feelings hurt when people are saying things about you when you know its true. I know it’s hard to hear and I have been on the receiving end as well and it wasn’t pretty but it did open my eyes. If you get good criticism, you are supposed to use that to your advantage. Some people are surrounded by “yes” people and they go through lives thinking their shit doesn’t stink.

Society has made everyone soft. We are too scared to hurt feelings. Reporters are too scared to report the truth when it has to deal with the minority. Presidents are too scared to piss off the wrong crowd. We reward people who play both sides of the field and shun those who speak their mind. People like listening to Howard Stern because he isn’t afraid of speaking his mind and people also hate listening to him because of the same reason. But one thing is for certain, he doesn’t make $50+ million a year by being conservative on every subject.
